Asteri Construction kicks off every bathroom project with:

  • Comprehensive Design Consultation: We sit down with you to discuss style, layout, and functionality—reviewing everything from tile patterns to lighting plans and aging-in-place features.
  • Site Evaluation & Permitting: Our team inspects your existing framing, subfloor, plumbing & electrical rough-ins, and secures any required permits to ensure code-compliance.
  • Full Demo & Tear-Out: We carefully remove old fixtures, tile, drywall, and subfloor where necessary—disposing of materials responsibly.
  • Structural & Subfloor Prep: Any compromised joists or framing are reinforced; dips and high spots in the floor are corrected with self-leveling underlayment to create a perfectly flat substrate.
  • Mechanical Rough-In: Licensed plumbers install new drains, supply lines, and vents, while our electricians run wiring for lighting, outlets, and ventilation—readying the space for finishes.

Tailored Waterproofing Solutions

Depending on your design and substrate, we select from multiple premium waterproofing systems to protect against leaks and mold:

Schluter® Kerdi & Ditra

Ideal for walls and floors, these sheet membranes are embedded in thin-set mortar. Kerdi-Band seals seams and corners. Ditra uncoupling protects tiles from subfloor movement—eliminating cracks.

RedGard® Liquid Membrane

A two-coat, brush- or roll-applied waterproof barrier that forms a seamless membrane—even over irregular shapes. We flood-test the coating for 24 hours to confirm watertight integrity.

Ardex™ 8+9 Underlayment

This self-leveling cementitious underlayment creates a flat, drainage-ready floor. It’s moisture-resistant and bond-ready for tile, stone, or engineered flooring.

Polyurethane Sealants

Flexible, high-performance sealants used around drains, fixtures, and transitions. They bond to most surfaces, accommodating movement without cracking.

Materials & Detailed Build Process

Step 1: Subfloor & Surface Prep

We assess the existing subfloor—identifying low spots, rot, or damage. Using Ardex™ 8+9, we pour a self-leveling compound to achieve a flat, stable base. This step ensures proper drainage and prevents grout lippage.

Step 2: Waterproofing Application

Based on your layout, we install sheet membrane (Kerdi®/Ditra®) or liquid membrane (RedGard®). All seams, corners, and penetrations are reinforced with Kerdi-Band or specialized sealants. We then flood-test wet zones to guarantee full coverage.

Step 3: Tile & Surface Installation

Premium porcelain, ceramic, or natural stone tiles are set using white thin-set mortar for perfect adhesion. Grout joints are filled with epoxy or urethane grout for stain and crack resistance. Silicone sealant is applied at perimeters and transitions.

Step 4: Fixture & Cabinetry Installation

Our certified plumbers install your chosen toilet, sink, and shower valves. Carpenters mount vanities, medicine cabinets, and custom storage. All fixtures—from towel bars to shower doors—are precisely aligned and sealed.

Step 5: Electrical & Ventilation

We wire and install LED lighting, exhaust fans, and outlets per your plan. Ventilation ducts are sealed and insulated to prevent moisture buildup. Specialty lighting (dimmer switches, accent LEDs) is integrated seamlessly.

Step 6: Final Inspection & Customer Walkthrough

We test all plumbing, check waterproofing, and verify electrical functionality. Asteri’s project manager guides you through each detail—addressing any questions—then hands over the keys to your fully renovated, code-compliant bathroom.
